Our Torrance office has a private, indoor pool where we offer Aquatic Therapy. The buoyancy of the water reduces the weight patients put on injured limbs and joints, and the water offers resistance used for strengthening muscles during rehabilitation.

Eric took over as Clinical Director of BCO Physical Therapy Manhattan Beach in 2014. He completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy from USC in 2007 and went on to complete the prestigious USC Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency in 2008. The residency included teaching in the USC Doctor of Physical Therapy program, as well as completing a year-long Advanced Management series in the evaluation and treatment of the spine and extremities. Eric then obtained his Board Certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) in 2009. He is currently part-time faculty in the Mount St. Mary's University Doctor of Physical Therapy program, where he teaches Musculoskeletal Imaging and the Orthopedic Patient Management series. Eric was born and raised in the South Bay, and when not in the clinic, you can find him spending time with his family and surfing.
Abbie received her BS in Kinesiology with specialization in exercise science and minor in Spanish from the University of Rhode Island in 2014. She went on to receive her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California. She believes that movement is medicine and is passionate about helping people to achieve their goals through physical therapy. Her interests outside the clinic include running, hiking, biking, surfing, Pilates, yoga, and mindfulness.
Michael is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. He received his BS in Biology from Gonzaga University and his DPT from the University of Southern California in 2016. He has been exposed to a variety of clinical settings including outpatient orthopedics, inpatient neuro, and most recently he has worked with active duty Special Forces at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Whether you consider yourself an active individual or not, he has a passion for working with each patient on their own goals and making treatment truly individualized. In his free time, he likes to stay active by rock-climbing, weight lifting, and playing soccer.
Jasmine grew up in Ventura, CA where she played water polo, swam and ran track. She went on to received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at San Diego State University in 2012 with an emphasis on fitness, nutrition, and health. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from USC in May 2017 where she was President of the Physical Therapy Multicultural Leadership Alliance and was awarded the Order of the Golden Cane, which is USC’s top honor for clinical excellence and leadership.
Jasmine has had extensive clinical experience treating patients with neurologic conditions as well as treating high level and professional athletes using a biomechanical approach in order to decrease risk for injury and improve performance. She is passionate about utilizing movement biomechanics in order to return people to their highest level of function as well as utilizing mindfulness and motor learning to ensure long term change. In her spare time Jasmine enjoys beach volleyball, surfing, swimming, running, yoga, traveling and spending time with her pup and husband.
Originally from India, Lijesh graduated with a Masters in Physical Therapy from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, India in 2009. He is a lifetime member of Indian Association of Physical Therapists and has work experience as a Medical Personal Fitness Trainer in reputed gyms and as a Clinical Physical Therapist in India prior to moving to the United States in 2012. Lijesh worked as a TIER 1 personal trainer at Equinox Health Club in Hawthorne before starting his physical therapy career in the US as a part time Physical Therapy Assistant with an assisted living, skilled nursing home health agency. He has experience working with people of all different age groups and likes to treat patients as a whole, optimizing their functional life and improving their quality of life. His recent experience was with South Bay Kaiser Permanente as their only PTA working in the out-patient and in-patient departments. After passing the National Physical Therapy exam, Lijesh joined BCO in December 2017. In his free time, Lijesh enjoys playing cricket, soccer, and tennis, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his wife and two-year-old son.
Jason received his BA in Kinesiology and Psychology at Whittier College followed by his Doctor of Physical Therapy from USC. Jason was a four-year football letterman at the high school and collegiate levels. He played at Corona Centennial where he was a member of the Division 1 State Championship team in 2008. While at USC, Jason was President of the Multicultural Leadership Alliance helping raise money to fund PT mission trips abroad as well as an annual minority scholarship award for incoming Doctor of Physical Therapy students. Jason also has a strong passion for travelling and providing physical therapy services in underrepresented countries such as the Philippines, Costa Rica, and Mexico.
Mike received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Mount St. Mary's University. He began his journey in physical therapy working with children with developmental delay, neurological and genetic disorders, which he loved, but made his transition back to his passion of sports therapy at BCO in early 2016. Mike is an athlete and active competitor in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and uses his knowledge to educate his patients on optimal movement patterns. Driven by his competitive nature, Mike always explores new ways to improve his skills, and draws upon his experiences in martial arts, baseball, golf, and functional weightlifting to make his treatments relevant to his patient's goals and individual needs.
Sharon received her BS in Sports Medicine from Pepperdine University followed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from USC. She is recognized as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
She has over 10 years of experience in the area of sports medicine and orthopedics, including 6 years of experience with aquatic physical therapy. She has continued to advance her clinical skills through continuing education classes including vestibular rehabilitation, management of the spine and shoulder injured athlete, and corrective exercise techniques. Sharon is a South Bay native and enjoys spending her free time staying active by exploring new running and hiking trails, taking Pilates, yoga, and dance classes, and cheering on her local sports teams. She is also involved in supporting fundraising for children's cancer and animal rescues.
Alice received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from USC in 2009. She earned her Board Certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2014 and is also certified as a strength and conditioning specialist. Using her background in multiple sports including basketball, soccer, softball, and martial arts, she has worked with patients of all activity levels to help them return to their lifestyles. Outside of the clinic, Alice volunteers her time as an assistant coach with the Torrance High School girls' varsity basketball team.
The BCO Hand Therapy Department specializes in the evaluation and treatment of various injuries to the elbow, forearm, wrist, hand, and fingers. Our service is tailored to help individuals regain or improve the functional use of their hands for work and home daily activities. We believe that constant physician-therapist communication leads to better patient care and results, thus our surgeons and therapists work close together as a team to assist in the rehabilitation process.
Heather is a Certified Hand Therapist who received both her Bachelor of Science (Magna Cum Laude, 2006) and Master of Arts (2007) in Occupational Therapy from USC. She is proud to be an active member of the Hand Therapy Society of Greater Los Angeles. She loves helping patients return to their normal daily routines, sports, hobbies, and work.
Heather received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Stanbridge University (Summa Cum Laude). She enjoys helping patients restore function in order to participate in their meaningful activities. Also a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists, she is currently working on eligibility requirements in order to become a Certified Hand Therapist. Outside of the clinic, Heather enjoys hiking, playing golf and basketball, travelling, and spending time with her fiance and French bulldog.
Nancy has always been extremely active and addicted to movement. Whether it was playing sports, or simply enjoying outdoor activities, fitness has always been a driving force in her life. Her attraction to movement eventually led to a career in the circus arts. Having practiced Pilates for the last 15 years, Nancy decided to get her certification after an accident resulting in pelvic fracture. She chose Polestar Pilates due to their science and evidence-based curriculum and has been teaching exercises to patients to restore, achieve, and excel in physical fitness ever since.
